East Lansing, Michigan Formerly of Rochester, NY Born January 13, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to Raymond and Della Wernecke, passed away on February 18, 2013, at the age of 69. Barbara was a high school teacher and writer. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Tom and Richard Wernecke. Barbara is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bill; sons, Matthew Richard (Jenette) Durkin and John Michael (Mary) Durkin; 4 grandchildren, Madison, Michael, Emilee and Bethany. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to Towson University Foundation, G.R. Gillespie and Maravene S.
